Compact Digital Cameras

Compact Digital Cameras - Point and Shoot Cameras.
Compact cameras are small and portable. They are good for beginners in photography and are inexpensive. This type of cameas are often called point-and-shoot cameras since you only have to point at the object to be photographed and press the shoot button. The modern compact cameras has many basic features incorporated and have a built-in flash usually of low power, sufficient for nearby subjects. Live preview is provided by a LCD screen. They may have limited motion picture and zoom capability.
There are also "ultra-compact-cameras". Ultra Compact could be expensive compared to Compact while the features are the same. This is owing to the battery types used in Ultra Compact. Compact cameras generally uses AA/AAA batteries while Ultra Compact uses Li-Ion battery that makes them less bulky.
Compact cameras ranges from 5-megapixel to 14-megapixel sensors. The zoom capability ranges from 2x-5x optical zoom.
