Image Resolution
Image Resolution is a measuring yard-stick for the quality and detail that an image can hold. In digital cameras this is measured in megapixels. One megapixel is one million pixels which is the number of image sensor elements used to capture the image. Hence a high resolution provides more detail and clarity to the picture. High resolution also produces a large image size without much compromise to the image quality. There are few hitches in going for a high resolution camera. For one thing high resolution cameras are expensive. A 10MP compact camera sells from $150-$250 compared to a 7MP camera which could be bought for less than $100. Also higher resolution means higher memory space and slower operation speed.
