What Megapixel to look for?
Choosing the Image resolution in camera depends on what purpose you will be using the pictures. If your need is to print the photos, then a high resolution camera will be a good choice. The detail and clarity of the photos will be obvious when it is printed. Also with high ersolution you can print the photos from a normal postcard size to poster size without losing quality. Many of us use our computer or cellphones to store, use and share the photographs. If this is the case, then high resolution is not essential. The common computer display monitors uses less than 1 megapixel resolution. Hence a photo taken with a low-resolution camera and a high-resolution camera will not have a major change when viewed through a computer monitor or any other video display. Rather a high resolution camera will produce an image size that is not compatible for web usage. The image will be larger than the display screen and the file size will be huge. One has to resize the image to a smaller size for usage.
